Neill Gillatt Appointed Permanent CEO of Volunteering Sunshine Coast

SUNSHINE COAST, QLD – Following a successful period as Interim CEO, Neill Gillatt has been formally appointed as the permanent Chief Executive Officer of Volunteering Sunshine Coast, effective 1 September 2025.

Mr Gillatt stepped into the interim role in July after the departure of former CEO Michael Moodie. During this time, he has demonstrated his deep commitment to the organisation and its mission, ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining a strong focus on supporting the region’s vibrant volunteer community.

“I am incredibly proud and grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this wonderful organisation,” said Mr Gillatt. “Volunteering is the heart and soul of the Sunshine Coast, and I am excited to build on our strong foundation, fostering even more connections and making a lasting impact on our community.”

Volunteering Sunshine Coast Chair, Caroline Patton, expressed her full confidence in the appointment. “Neill’s leadership and extensive experience have been invaluable during this transitional phase. His passion for community and his understanding of the not-for-profit sector make him the ideal person to guide Volunteering Sunshine Coast into its next chapter. We are confident he will continue to be a fantastic advocate for our volunteers and partner organisations.”

The Board will now focus on supporting Mr Gillatt and the team as they continue to strengthen their role as a central hub for volunteer coordination, training, and community-building initiatives across the region.
