Report of the Parliamentary Committee’s Inquiry into Volunteering in Queensland

Report of the Parliamentary Committee’s Inquiry into Volunteering in Queensland was released on the 18th of September 2025 

 

 The Queensland Parliament’s Local Government, Small Business and Customer Service Committee has tabled its Inquiry into Volunteering in Queensland Report on the 18th of September 2025. The report aims to improve the volunteering experience across the state and includes recommendations to boost volunteer participation.

As part of the inquiry, the committee:

✅ Received 500+ written submissions

✅ Heard from 150+ witnesses

✅ Held 15 public hearings across Queensland in 2025, including Dalby, Toowoomba, Gympie, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Roma, Cairns, Cooktown, Townsville, Gold Coast, Emerald, and Rockhampton.

The government has three months to respond to the report’s recommendations. Once tabled, the government response will be published on Queensland Parliament website. The report will be debated in the Legislative Assembly in due course.
